A Setback

A major set back cost us major conversion time.

Where’s the Nearest Hospital?

Life on the road has a lot of perks, but today, as I was taking my youngest to a local children's hospital here in Kansas City, MO, I realized healthcare…

RV Camping in Chicago

We’re native Chicagoans, and while we get ready to move into our converted school bus, we’ve learned a lot about where to go if you want to park an RV…

About us

We are a full-time traveling family who purchased a school bus in 2016, converted it into an RV, and named her Wander Bus. We sold everything we owned and left our Chicago life behind to travel America full-time.

We have no idea how long we’ll be on the road, most of the time we have no idea where we are headed until days before its time to pack up, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are experiencing life as a family, celebrating our National Parks, discovering our countries history, and always dreaming about when we can get back to Walt Disney World.

In our spare time, we are the hosts of the RV Miles podcast, and the America’s National Parks Podcast, and the creators and managers of three travel focused websites (  and this site), and two theater/performing arts focused websites in Chicago and Kansas City (Perform.Ink. KC.Perform.Ink).

As writers and podcasters, we travel the country reviewing destinations, and family-focused adventures in hopes of inspiring others to get out there and enjoy this big beautiful world. If you’d like to talk about how Our Wandering Family can come to your city or attraction, or partner with your brand, visit our media page on RV Miles. We’ve worked with brands like L.L Bean, GoSun Solar, Pelican Coolers, Doubletree by Hilton, Margarittaville Resorts,  and numerous tourism bureaus across the country. We’d love to chat with you!

So, this is our journey. It’s a journey built on risk, adventure, trust, and love because we know not all who wander are lost. Welcome, and we’ll see you on the road!
